Ingredients

  • 2 Cup Cooked Chickpeas Reserve 1/4 cup of the cooking liquid (aquafaba)
  • 1 Whole Lemon Zest and juice
  • 1/4 cup Black Buffalo Marinade Adjust to taste
  • To taste Salt Adjust as needed

Instructions

  • Prepare the chickpeas: If you're using canned chickpeas, drain and rinse them. If you’ve cooked your own, be sure to reserve about 1/4 cup of the cooking liquid (aquafaba) for the recipe.
  • Add to food processor: In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, the reserved aquafaba, lemon zest, lemon juice, Black Buffalo Marinade, and salt.
  • Blend until smooth: Process until the mixture becomes smooth and creamy. If it's too thick, add more aquafaba (or water) a tablespoon at a time until you reach your desired consistency.
  • Taste and adjust: Taste the hummus and adjust the seasoning. Add more salt, lemon juice, or Black Buffalo Marinade to enhance the flavor to your liking.
  • Serve and enjoy: Transfer the hummus to a bowl. Optionally, drizzle a bit of olive oil on top and garnish with fresh herbs, additional lemon zest, or a sprinkle of smoked paprika for extra flavor.
